Created in 1948, the DAW Chair forms part of a series of mass-producible, single piece moulded plastic chairs designed by husband and wife team Charles and Ray Eames. This piece is a fusion of the ergonomically designed seat of the RAR Chair and the wood legs of the DSW Chair. The DAW Chair has the honor of being the first ever mass-produced plastic chair. Its combination of comfort, durability and style has made it a popular choice for almost everywhere, from dining rooms to playrooms, offices to libraries! The name DAW is a reference to the attributes of the chair – Dining Chair with Armrests and Wood legs.
Expertly crafted from a single piece of fiberglass, our reproduction of this iconic design has an organically shaped shell that follows the contours of the body. This offers optimal comfort, which is further enhanced by the addition of armrests. The chair is available in a variety of fun colors. The beech wood and black steel legs are created in the Eiffel Tower style that is characteristic of many Eames’ designs.
