One of the signature classics of modern design. The LC1 Chair was originally designed in 1928 by modern architecture pioneer Charles-Edouard Jeanneret Le Corbusier with the intention to create a chair which was radically different from the traditional furniture of that time. This chair is part of the first modern furniture line to take the radical step of reversing the standard structures of chairs by having frames that are externalized in a way that they become a dramatic and visible aspect of the design. A distinctive feature of this piece is that the back of the chair is attached to the frame by a rod that allows the angle of tilt to change. As the user shifts from one sitting position to the next, the back of the chair moves for continuous support. Pairing the purity of simple tubular steel with the sensual warmth of natural hide, this piece has a sleek look and an air of functional elegance.
Made to the highest standards, LC1 Chair is upholstered with premium saddle leather. The frame is the main features of this piece and is made using polished stainless steel for ultimate style, strength and durability.
