The Wassily Chair is believed to be the first bent tubular steel chair design. The intricate construction was inspired by the tubular handlebars of a bicycle and this revolutionary chair was originally created using new technology enabling steel to be bent without breaking. The original design dates back to 1925 and is a signature piece of German-American architect and designer Marcel Breuer. The chair is extremely comfortable, as the minimal upholstery is carefully placed to offer maximum support for the body. The seat platform tilts at a backward angle of circa twenty degrees and offers maximum comfort. Visually, this chair is truly at its best when coupled with the Laccio Table Set.
We have thoroughly reproduced the artistic work of Marcel Breuer with a polished steel worked frame and premium saddle leather upholstery.
